I have just arrived back in the States after a brief but exciting visit to Germany. Buying a car there, and having it shipped here, has always been one of those things I wanted to try. I was in Stuttgart for the opening of the Porsche museum. I figured that if I wanted a Porsche, and was willing to pay the price for it, I should see the cars in their native environment and surrounded by the engineers who build, what I believe, is the finest motorcar in the world.

I don’t know if life imitates art or art imitates life. What I do know is that my new girlfriend was adamant that I go to Connecticut to meet her family. She wanted to make a big impression about the “rich boy” she had found at Billy Bob’s in Ft. Worth, Texas. As we planned the trip I was reminded of those movies I have seen where someone want to impress someone so they get a car to drive that may make the “impressor” look incredible to the “impressee.”
